Changing Software on Your Thomas 3004 Change Machine
When you require changes to be made on your Thomas 3004 change machine, whether it is to do with faults appearing on your mahcine or just payout modifications that need to be done, it may be neccessary to change the software.
This is done by changing one or two software chips on the TP270 board located in the TP260 Control Module
The computer program that controls the machine is on a RED chip which is fitted to socket ‘B’ on the TP270. Alongside, in socket ‘C’ is the Data Rom, which contains the various payout combinations available. This chip is usually GREEN.
SOCKET B: Control Software, Label Stating the current version number
Socket C: Data ROM, Label Marked – XXAABBCC
(XX = Country group AABBCC = Release date identifier)
When fitting a new chip, observe anti-static precautions, check that all the legs enter the socket correctly and ensure that orientation is correct with the mark on the end of the chip.
